Grace Missionary and Middle Island Baptist Trip Blog

Thursday was a fantastic day. Grace finished up their last day of Kids Club by handing out loaded back packs for back to school. It is incredible all the prayer, love and spiritual conversations that occured at Dempsey this week.
Several days ago the team prayed for a lady with cancer. Yesterday that lady came to camp to let the team know that her doctor just called her to say that her cancer was completely gone and that they had no explanation.
Middle Baptist also had a wonderful day with camp and then taking some back to school clothes to a little girl they helped to place in a shelter. We received news that the dad has a job already and that things are progressing well.
Thank you to both teams for being so available to be used by God so much.

Our host church is so excited with the progress that has been made on the lot next to their church. We have been able to mow the grass, wack the weeds back, clean up stones and remove piles of brush.
We were able to get the family we mentioned yesterday into a wonderful shelter. They now have a place to live, have meals and receive help in finding a job and a home. Not to mention both the mom and the dad began relationships with Jesus.
Our day concluded with a praise service at the church. How great it was to spend time with this local body sharing all that He is doing in our days.

Please pray with us as we continue to move into our camps. They have been amazing but they have been hard/emotional. We are meeting many people with many needs. God is blessing though. He is giving us words to share and He is showing us how to help meet needs.
We have been so blessed also. We met one lady who lives in so much pain that she can only wear light pjs all the time. She was so excited about us coming to do camp for the kids in the community that she stayed up all night making ice for us for our drinks at camp the next day. She came to camp dressed and served wonderfully.
We met another family that lost everything in a recent power outage. All they had were the clothes on their backs. Today they were losing their home about to be homeless. Several from our team were able to take them to get some clothes and basic items and are helping them get housing today. They should be in a place to live by 7pm tonight.

I can't even begin to cover all that happen today. God blessed us so much through our camps today. After spending the morning putting the finishing touches on our camp we headed out to conduct them.
Both camps had a great turnout with everyone enjoying themselves alot.
So many opportunities to pray with people and have conversations about God. We learned about alot of needs we are hoping to meet.

Sunday was a great day. We started off in quiet time introducing the topic of the fear of people. We look forward to seeing what scripture says about who we choose to influence our decisions-God or people.
After that we were able to join our host church for Sunday School and Church. Everyone was so welcoming.
We spent the afternoon assembling 500 invitation bags that we later took to two communities we plan on having kids camps at. The people we met were so excited about the camps that are comin.

Saturday went well. After the teams arrived we moved everyone in, had dinner and gathered for an overview of the week. It was so wonderful to see both teams get along so well right from the start. Really set us off on the right note.
