West Virginia July 10-17 Trip Blog Day 7

07/16/10  7:03 PM  Posted by CMS Admin

Well, that's it. Camp is over. As this blog is being written campers are heading out the sanctuary to home. We have some tears and it's hard to let go but we celebrate the wonderful week we had together. We will miss our new friends but our prayers will always be with them.

What a fanastic week we had. The team worked tirelessly to put together a camp that was fun and meaningful. The love of Jesus was clearly demonstrated and communicated through the week.

Our final session was fantastic. Each class was able to get up in front of everyone to share the skit and sign language message that they learned. How great it was to see the kids from the missions team side by side with those from the community.

Please pray for everyone as we leave this week. Pray that God would continue the work that He started this week. Please pray that we would hold us all close. Please pray that eternity would be touched as a result of the obediance of this team

West Virginia July 10-17 Trip Blog Day 6

What a day! We started by providing a free four wheeler was in the community. While we only had one 4 wheeler we did have approx. 30 cars stop by. It was a great opportunity to serve the community, connect people to our host church and share the love of Jesus.

Here is our youngest member serving with all his heart. This team, little guys included, have given their all on this trip. There is no doubt they are tired but they continue to trust God for their strength and serve with joy. They are a great example of how to serve our Savior.

Hey Everyone,
Well, we had 52 again today. What a great day. No rain and lots of love from your teams for the kids. Most of the adult men were outside leading games and getting wooped. The rest of the team was husseling kids from craft to games to music.

Please continue to pray for your team that they would have the energy they need to maintain this great camp. Please pray that they will trust in their Savior to provide all they need to love these kids. Please pray that in everyway they will show Jesus.

West Virginia July 10-17 Trip Blog Day 4

Camp continues to grow, the teams continue to bond and we all continue to become more like Jesus.

We had 52 kids today. Wow! But God gave us all the strength, patience and love we needed. The local kids have been having a great time. It has been such a blessing to see how close we all have grown in just a few days.

We had rain all day today but that didn't stop the team. They adjusted and camp went off without a hitch. Praise God that these teams are so flexible and giving.

West Virginia July 10-17 Trip Blog Day 3

Today camp opened with 30 children coming from the community. The team did a fantastic job from the youngest member, a 4 year old to the oldest member, lets call her Alice. Only kidding. The team prepared a wonderful camp consisting of games, snacks, puppets, crafts, and skits. What a great time they had sharing the love of Jesus with these kids.

It was hard though. While they loved being with the kids we have started to see some of the difficulties that they live with every day. Some don't have enough food to get through a day. Some are starving for love. Some just want to hang out with someone. Your team met them and it was good.

Please pray for your team that they would continue to spend focused time with the Lord each day and that they would continue to be the wonderful picture of the Body of Jesus that they are.
The two teams have blended into one. It has been great. Please pray that those that need to share in God's love would.

West Virginia July 10-17 Trip Blog Day 2

Today was fantastic. The team did a wonderful job sharing in the services. They were a pleasure to listen to. They were so open about their stories and so excited about the Lord. It was obvious to us all.

Sunday afternoon was spent assembling and distributing approx. 400 invitation bags for our camp we have coming up this week.

It was exciting to hear back from the Newton team after they returned from an apartment complex. The response there was great. It looks like our host church has a whole new field ripe for harvest.

Hi Everyone,
Thank you for checking in our the teams that are with us in WV. Both teams, Newton Presbyterian and Christ Chapel arrived safely and ready to go.

With a ton of ministry before us this week we jumped right in and started preparing for the ministry that would begin for us on Sunday.

We began by preparing to share in 3 church services. In the two morning services we would attend we needed to prepare to give a brief introduction as to who we are and where we are from, we needed 4 teens prepared to share their testimonies and we needed to present one of the skits we would be doing in camp this coming week.

For the evening service we prepared to cover the entire service. So, all of the above played a part as well as John sharing a message.

The team worked well and look ready to go.

With the night getting late we decided to hold off on any other meetings and go to bed. Interestingly enough the Lord had other plans. While the adults were discussing what to do upstairs the teens went downstairs for an pickup worship time. It was amazing. An hour later we called it quits.

Please ask them about that worship time and what it was like for them. You will be excited by their answers.
